The Role of the Treasurer,

The role of the treasurer is to manage funding we receive from your membership money, union support and sponsorship from external companies. It has to be ensured there is enough money for all the events we hold for you guys: from the Inter-mural sport tournament, mooting and bar crawls, to the big social events such as the Christmas Meal and the Law Ball. The aim is to maximise Ed Brams’ money, and budget to ensure we can do as many activities as possible, to make your university experience the best it can be!

Cassie,

Value for Money?

One of the first questions thrown at the new committee this year was “why is Ed Bram so expensive?” This was something I really didn’t understand. For a mere £18 a year or £36 for three years you get amazing value for money. Reduced prices for your first year text books for a start, then there’s discount drinks and club tickets at Ed Bram Socials, a massively subsidised trip to Paris and Barcelona late in October, discount admission to both the Winter and Summer Law Balls (not to be missed), and the list goes on.

However, whilst the financial benefits alone make it crazy for you not to join, as a member of Ed Bram you benefit far more than just financially. Each term The Edward Bramley Society arranges a wide variety of legal workshops run by some of the largest Law firms in the country, great opportunities to get an idea of how the law works in the real world and also a chance to meet lawyers who, one day, you may be working with.

Trust me, the benefits of this are far beyond the membership fee and on that note I look forward to seeing you in September!

Best Regards, David.
